Local Prevention Council Highlight: Portland’s presentation of “Sunny’s Story”

The Portland Youth and Family Prevention council is hosting a presentation and Q&A and book signing on April 20 at 7pm at the Portland High School Library.

Ginger and Larry Katz are the founders of Courage to Speak Foundation, and Ginger is the author of Sunny’s Story, a book about her son’s addiction and overdose told from the family dog’s point of view. The presentation is focused towards parents, teachers, and caregivers, but would certainly be insightful for older students. There will be a Q&A portion after the presentation and Ginger will sign books as well.

Youth & Family Services is giving a free Sunny’s Story book to the first 25 people that RSVP for the event and attend, which Ginger will sign that night. RSVP is encouraged, but not required. The link to RSVP, which contains some additional information, is https://tinyurl.com/CourageToSpeak. More info can be found on our Prevention page https://www.portlandct.org/yfs-prevent or people could call or email me jrevicki@portlandct.org (860) 342-6758.
